The Story of Eb's Paci Strap and Pocket

DEDICATED TO EBONY'S BABIES (EVIONNE & EDYN)

Hi everyone, my name is Evionne and this is my story. Everyone knows that necessity is the mother of all inventions, right? Well it all started when my mother was very young, a little older than me in this picture.

My Mommie (Grandmother) would tie a ribbon around my mom’s pacifier handle and pin the ribbon to the back of my mom’s baby bib. See my Mommie hated for my mom’s paci to fall on the floor when she spit it out. You know how most toddlers do. Well, when I came along there were the clip-on pacifiers. So, the need was met, right? Well not for long for my Mommie. When my sister (Edyn) was six months old our mom went to heaven. Then my Mommie got the good pleasure of raising my sister and me.

My Mommie used the pin on pacifiers with my sister but could not keep up with the pacifier’s cap. So, Mommie still had trouble. See she did not like the paci rubbing against my sister’s clothes and clothes of others.  So there Mommie was again! She needed something that would prevent my sister’s paci from rubbing against her and other people. So, my Mommie invented the paci strap and pocket. It is a strap that fastens to the pacifier and when the baby is not sucking it, there is a pocket for the pacifier to fit in. There you have it, another need met. Necessity IS the mother of all inventions. Oh, by the way, my mom’s name was Ebony …. hint Eb’s Baby Bibs!
